چکیده

This study presents the results of maximal treadmill testing and cardiac catheterization in 40 asymptomatic and apparently healthy men with acquired right bundlebranch block. Eight of the men had significant anglographic coronary artery disease, and six of the eight only had single-vessel disease. The 40 men had normal maximal oxygen consumptions, normal maximal heart rates, and normal maximal blood pressure responses; none of the men had abnormal ST-segment changes in

Prevalence of asymptomatic ST segment elevation in right precordial leads with right bundle branch block (Brugada-type ST shift) among the general Japanese population.

OBJECTIVE To examine the modality and morbidity of asymptomatic ST segment elevation in leads V1 to V3 with right bundle branch block (Brugada-type ST shift). METHODS 8612 Japanese subjects (5987 men and 2625 women, mean age 49.2 years) who underwent a health check up in 1997 were investigated. Those with Brugada-type ST shift underwent the following further examinations over a two year perio...

Prevalence of different electrocardiographic patterns in Iranian athletes.

To explore the abnormalities in Iranian athletes' electrocardiogram and find any relation with body fat. 239 international athletes were involved in this cross sectional study. Body-fat percentage and resting 12-lead ECGs were recorded from all participants. Of 239 participant athletes, 212 were male and 27 female. 60% of participants had sinus bradycardia. A total of 84% of the athletes demons...

The response of healthy men to treadmill exercise.

Heart rates, blood pressures, and functional responses to submaximal, maximal and postexertional treadmill testing are presented for a group of 704 healthy, asymptomatic aircrewmen referred to the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine. The indicated measurements are individually described by the use of percentiles. These data provide the practicing clinician with an accurate and complete descriptio...

Five-year follow-up of maximal treadmill stress test in asymptomatic men and women.

A five-year follow-up of 888 asymptomatic men and women without known coronary heart disease (CHD) who had a maximal treadmill stress test (MTST) revealed a CHD incidence of 1.1% per year. In women, exercise duration of 3 minutes or less by the Ellestad protocol correlated with subsequent development of CHD (p less than 0.001), although abnormal ST-segment and R-wave responses did not. In men 4...

Normal electrocardiographic waveform characteristics during treadmill exercise testing.

Forty asymptomatic male patients at low risk for cardiovascular disease completed maximal treadmill testing. Electrocardiograms from leads CC5, CM5, V5, Yh and Z were recorded across multiple pretest, exercise and recovery conditions. ECG waveforms were subsequently digitized, averaged and processed to provide Q-, R-, S- and T-wave amplitudes, ST-segment means and slopes, and QS- and RT-interva...
